Boeing 787 Ready to Fly!

After over two years of delays, the new Boeing 787 plans to take flight!  Interestingly enough, a couple years ago when we visited the Boeing Plant, they were starting to work on models and "test crafts."

The 787 Dreamliner has finally past its other tests, according to its website, and,weather permitting, will fly today.  Beoing has been tracking its milestones at the 787 Milestones Website.

Beoing also has an entire website dedicated to the first flight of the plane.

What is an LED light?

According to dictionary.com, an LED is:

a light-emitting diode: a semiconductor diode that emits light when conducting current and is used in electronic equipment, esp. for displaying readings on digital watches, calculators, etc.

Why write this post?  You may have seen Christmas lights in your area start to change and different shades appear.  These are most likely LED lights.  While they have an expensive upfront cost, they are touted as 80% less energy used than traditional tungsten lights.  They also are supposed to last longer than traditional Christmas lights.
